On Friday April 24th, third graders had a special virtual mystery reader. It was Mikaela’s mom, Kisha! She read “A Girl Named Misty”. This book is about American ballerina Misty Copeland and how she would change the face of dance by becoming a star ballerina at one of the top ballet companies. The students hung on her every word as she read about how Misty made such great strides (literally!) in dance. She showed other African American women that they could also be ballerinas. What an accomplishment! Thank you Kisha, for making our rainy Friday more enjoyable!
