Cedar Hill Prep School Third Grade welcomed our second mystery reader for January, Mr. David Payt, Ellie’s dad. He read two interesting books. The first book he read ‘Stone Soup’, is based on an old French tale and was published in 1947. This picture book classic has remained one of Marcia Brown’s most popular and enduring books. The story is about three hungry soldiers who outwit the greedy inhabitants of a village into providing them with a feast The second book ‘The Mitten, was about forest animals that ask to escape the cold and enter the warmth of a mitten until eventually the mitten explodes from all the pressure. The story is told from the perspective of a grandchild whose grandfather had lost the mitten. The students loved the animated reading by Mr. Payt. Thank you very much for being a mystery reader!
