As CHP teachers prepared for the 2021-2022 school year, they attended Teacher In-Service workshops focused on professional development. The workshops included reviewing and reiterating our school protocols for the upcoming year, with specific regard to safety precautions around the pandemic.
The development sessions also included multifaceted teacher training and an ice breaking exercise centered around non-verbal communication. Further faculty bonding came during introductions to CHP’s new staff members and the announcement of new roles for familiar faces, as well as a surprise birthday celebration for Mrs. Marali Chari, one of our Preschool Assistant Teachers.
Jilian DeTiberiis, M.A., BCBA and Christian Perez, M.A., BCBA of Graham Behavior Services led the staff in an in depth and compelling presentation on Applied Behavior Analysis and its applications within classroom management.
Our inaugural professional development sessions for this year concluded with a look forward to our goals and ambitions moving ahead at Cedar Hill Prep. This included the details of our House System, an overview of significant dates on our school calendar, and plans for Ted Talks geared toward CHP’s students.
The faculty came away from our In-Service days invigorated and fully informed on the many aspects of our return to in-person learning. We greatly anticipate all the excitement and accomplishments of the year as we begin our Fall trimester of 2021.
