May 1, 2020 was Save the Rhino Day. Grade 1 created a certificate which symbolizes an adoption by our 1st graders for a Rhino through the World Wildlife Fund. The donation provides general support to the World Wildlife Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization . Grade 1 students spent the day examining the plight of rhinos,(Are We ThereYet? Kenya!), listened to a funny story by Shel Silverstein: Who Wants a Cheap Rhinoceros? and played a game related to the story. Mrs. Parab integrated information about the white rhino into her afternoon game as well.
