For the week of January 7th through the 11th, the Preschool theme was Winter Animals. The children learned that there are animals that sleep all winter, called hibernation. The students read books that explained what the animals do to prepare for hibernation. Some gather their food and put it in their burrow, some bulk up and eat their food before going into hibernation. As a class project, The students made our own” Bear’s Den.” Each student brought in their own stuffed animal and placed them in our classroom den. “Shhhhh, we don’t want to wake them up before spring!”
