The Cedar Hill Prep School Pre-Kindergarten class had so much fun learning about liquids and solids. The students identified a liquid as something that pours and conforms to the shape of the container it is in. They identified a solid as something that keeps the same shape.
The students learned that a liquid can change to a solid when there is a temperature change. They thought that was the only time this could happen until they learned about something called Oobleck. If you can believe it, Oobleck can be a liquid and a solid at the same time. Don’t believe it? Well, it’s true, and they know because the students made Oobleck. They had a wonderful time as we mixed corn starch and water to create this awesome substance.
