On Wednesday, February 17th, Ms. Richardson’s Pre-Kindergarten B class celebrated Black History Month by learning about the wondrous life of the Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz during Spanish with Ms. Morales. Celia Cruz was an afro-cuban pop star and anti-revolutionary figure who impacted the entire world with her music.
Not only did the Pre-Kindergarten students discuss the impactful life of Celia Cruz, they also participated in many cultural based activities, including learning about Cuba’s history and culture, coloring a lively salsa dancer and bongo player, and of course, dancing. Mrs. Davidson even stopped by and danced alongside Harrison! Celebrating Black History Month by honoring the late Celia Cruz was both moving and fun.
