Open Court Reading Program

Second Graders kicked off our Open Court reading program by playing phonemic awareness name games along with practicing the skill of partner reading.

After reading and discussing different versions of Little Red Riding Hood, the students read a humorous version together called, “Little Green Riding Hood”. The story was written as a play, and the students took turns acting out the parts. Partner reading helps students work together on reading styles and fluency skills.
