Our young scientists opened our eyes to fascinating science fair topics such as why we should use our speaker phone more often, the relationship between juice and plant growth, and the connection between behavior and vocalizations for parakeets, just to name a few! Most impressive was the fact that students applied their understanding of the scientific method to study a vast range of topics from physics and chemistry to botany, biology, economics, and psychology. Many students opted for projects rooted in the Social Sciences with intriguing posters done in the areas of human cognition, eyewitness testimony, perceptions of attractiveness, altruism in children, mental heuristics, emotional intelligence, and overcoming fear and anxiety. Students dazzled judges, family and friends with their solid knowledge of their topics while having fun along the way. We are proud of our middle school students for a job well done! Thank you for your hard work!
