Both Cedar Hill Prep School Kindergarten classes celebrated Chinese New Year together. Mrs. Payt (Ian’s mom from Kindergarten “A”) came in and shared stories and traditions of this very special celebration that lasts for 15 days. Mrs. Payt gave each child a red envelope with money inside. The children ate special snacks and made Dragon masks. Dragons are a symbol of strength, goodness and luck. People eat special foods to symbolize prosperity and family unity! Families exchange gifts such as red envelopes containing money. Celebrations include dancing and fireworks! Chinese New Year 2020 begins on January 25th!
