Grade 6 Celebrates Pi Day

Grade 6 celebrated Pi day in Science class. Students took different sized marshmallows and calculated the ratio of circumference and diameter of their circles. They then discussed the results and how results and reflected on why results had slight variations to them. Even the virtual students were in on the action.

Students were able to celebrate with some clean marshmallows to eat afterward. It was a great learning experience of “why” and intermingling Science with Math.
