Grade 5 Science was out and about the CHP campus… in the low rope area, exploring the brook and woods. The budding scientists were on a scavenger hunt for living and nonliving things on CHP property. Some items were pretty easy to categorize, while other discoveries brought on deep discussions. The students came back inside with lists that even included the flowing water in the brook, the fungi on the dead tree stumps, and the sun and clouds. Great discoveries were made through thought-provoking conversations. And, the fresh air was an added plus.
