On July 11th, a beautiful open-air stage was set at Cedar Hill as an outdoor graduation ceremony was held for Grade 4 students. Under the inspirational leadership of Ms. Nan and Mr. Seeley, CHP’s Executive Director and Principal, it was quite an emotional and exciting event as the accomplishments of these graduating students were able to be celebrated in person with their immediate families, fellow graduates, faculty and staff members…and via Zoom for the graduate and extended family members who were unable to attend. This day was made more poignant and memorable as it marked the first time in four months that we were able to come together as a community, following the strict guidelines of COVID-19.
As their families sat under the covering of an open-air tent, Pomp and Circumstance began playing, and the students marched down the walkway for their final performance as CHP Elementary School students. This day marked their transition into Middle School.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a collaborative and creative effort that was highlighted by the students’ reflective speeches. Graduates were individually recognized as they were called upon to receive their diplomas and awards that showcased their personal achievements throughout the year. All the students received an award for the excellence in Virtual Learning that they demonstrated throughout the last trimester of the school year.
These Grade 4 students have brought much pride to their CHP community. Our best wishes go with them as they advance to Middle School!
Thank you to Ms. Nan and Mr. Seeley for your vision and leadership, and to the entire Administrative team and Music Department for engineering such a beautiful graduation experience.
