“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax all you need is a book” – Dr. Seuss.
Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration on Dr. Seuss’s birthday, March 2. At CHP, the third graders celebrated this special day by reading to our youngest students. Third graders brought a lot of smiles and laughter to the 3 and 4 year old classrooms. They captivated the students with classic Dr. Seuss books, such as, “The Cat In the Hat,” “Oh, the Places You Will Go”, “Mr. Brown Can Moo, How About You?” and many other favorites. Motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school. Dr. Seuss’s creative and entertaining style makes his books perfect to introduce young readers to the adventurous world of reading.
