February 21st was a fun afternoon in third grade, as we welcomed Keri’s mom Tene as our mystery reader! She read the book XO, OX: A Love Story by Adam Rex. The story is about a romantic ox who writes a letter to a glamourous, conceited gazelle to express his admiration. The gazelle is too concerned with the ox’s outward appearance to consider him. A funny exchange of letters between the two showcase that intelligence and beauty can exist in different forms. The students hung on her every word as she read the story with a great moral lesson. Thank you for making our Friday afternoon more enjoyable!
