Cedar Hill Prep School Third Graders had a wonderful end to their trimester exam week as they welcomed yet another mystery reader in their classrooms. Mrs. Stacey Davis, Amber’s They welcomed her with a third grade tradition, a drum roll. She read Anansi and the Talking Melon a West African Folk Tale. Anansi the Spider is one of the great folk heroes of the world. He is a rogue, a mischief maker, and a wise, lovable creature who triumphs over larger foes.
Tricky Anansi the Spider plays a joke on Elephant and the other animals after Anansi gets stuck inside one of Elephant’s melons, convincing everyone that Elephant has actually grown a talking melon. The kids were absolutely mesmerized by the animated reading by Mrs. Davis. Thank you for reading to us. We can’t wait for the arrival of our next mystery reader.
