On Wednesday May 1st, the 3rd graders participated in CHP’s annual poetry day celebration. The students memorized and recited poems by Jack Prelutsky. They were all very animated in their oral presentations which greatly added to the comical nature of the poems!
Afterwards, they showed parents their poetry portfolios in our “3rd Grade Poetry Cafe.” The students wrote diamantes, cinquains, limericks, haikus, autobiographical and acrostic poems. These are all encompassing of our poetry unit we worked on during the month of April. Great job 3rd graders!
