Deserts, rainforests, ponds and oceans – 2nd graders explored these to gain a deeper understanding of how living things survive in their habitats. As a learning extension, the children researched an ocean animal and completed a fact sheet, indicating their sources of information. Then, the 2nd graders illustrated their assigned animal and wrote a speech bubble about how the animal survives in the ocean. In addition to presenting their fun facts and illustrations to their classmates, the children also posted on Padlet, a virtual bulletin board. We discovered just how unique and vital all animals are in each habitat.
