2nd graders have been busy learning about weight. They searched their homes to find two containers that equaled about 1 kg. Discovering that most containers report in grams, the children had to practice using 3-digit addition with renaming skills to find containers totaling about 1000 grams! When exploring the gram, 2nd graders pretended to be balance scales and compared different desk items against the gram. “Weigh” to go!
