2nd grade engineers were charged with a problem to solve – design a hand pollinator to minimize the effect that a dwindling bee population was having on flower pollination. Following the Engineering Design Process, students considered the problem and the materials available to them. The children then designed, constructed and tested their own hand pollinators. Finally, they shared their final products with one another on Padlet, a private virtual bulletin board. Our engineers were determined and creative – way to go!
