Valentine’s Day was not only a celebration of friendship in 2nd grade, but also a lesson in engineering and history. Thinking like engineers, the Cedar Hill Prep School 2nd graders made Valentine’s Day mailboxes at home then decorated them with their friends at their class celebration. The children also made banner flags to commemorate the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, learning some fun facts along the way. Our class parents and volunteers organized the activities and provided special treats for the 2nd graders to enjoy together at the end of the day. It was a sweet afternoon for all!
