2nd graders donned their engineering hats when charged with designing a bridge that could safely transport cars over a river in a rainy area. At first, different materials were tested for strength and absorbency. Then, the young engineers used the data to create and test models of their own design to achieve the purpose of the bridge. Bridges were posted on Padlet and findings were reported on a reflection sheet.
All students walked away with a greater sense of the Engineering Design Process. Way to go, 2nd grade!
