The Cedar Hill Prep first grade students have been discussing onomatopoeia words in poetry. Onomatopoeia is a word that sounds like the common sound of the object it is describing for example, jingle, ding and boom! The students watched a video The ABC of Onomatopoeia and read a poem called Plink, Plink, Plink by Eric Ode. The students brought an instrument to the Zoom meeting to make sounds like the words in the video and poem. Everyone enjoyed this activity very much ….lots and lots of smiles!
