The goal of Introduction to Biomedical Engineering class is to expose the students to an interdisciplinary understanding of science and engineering. This includes exposure to the sub-fields within bioengineering, fostering critical thinking skills through interactive exercises and case studies so they may break down a device into components, as well as conceptually build one up from scratch. They are also learning about manufacturing processes that are used, and non-traditional career paths in the medical field outside bioengineering.
