Kindergarten Chinese New Year
Kindergarten children celebrated Chinese New Year and learned that it is the Year of the Dog!!! The children were read a story, had a discussion and made dragon masks!! Dragons are a symbol of strength goodness and luck! We learned that the celebration lasts for 15 days and people eat special foods to symbolize prosperity and family unity!!! Families exchange gifts such as red envelopes containing money. Celebrations include dancing and fireworks!!
Pre Kindergarten Chinese New Year
The Pre Kindergarten classes enjoyed learning about the Chinese New Year. Mrs. Chen and Elin told us about the holiday and how it is celebrated. Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays – 2018 is the year of the dog.
