40,000 students participated over the course of 6 months and 600 National finalists for each division – Grade 5/6, Grade 7 and Grade 8 convened in Atlanta. Seven students from Cedar Hill Prep School qualified for the Nationals – Aakarsh Mamawala, Agni Rajinkanth, Anush Polamraju, Arjun Agrawal, Keyon Majidi, Matthew Clarke, Rohan Jay and Vikram Renganathan. Vikram and Aakarsh were ranked in the top 8 in the regional competition and Vikram was the “Regional Champion” in the Elementary division. Vikram Renganathan made it to the final four and tied for 2nd place. Aakarsh Mamawala made it to the quarter finals and Anush Polamraju made the final 250. Vikram was 3 in the league, Aakarsh 54th, Anush 63rd.
Four of the National Finalists Aakarsh Mamawala, Anush Polamraju, Rohan Jay and Vikram Renganathan also participated in the History Bowl. They breezed through to make it among the Top 32 teams. The History Bowl team finished being 12th in the History Bowl competition.
The following students qualified for the National Finals in Geography Olympiad – Aakarsh Mamawala, Agni Rajinkanth, Kumar, Aishwarya Vedula, Anush Polamraju, Arjun Agrawal, Keyon Majidi, Leela Menon, Matthew Clarke, Rohan Jay and Vikram Renganathan. Abhinav Kumar, Agni Rajinkanth, Arjun Agrawal, Keyon Majidi and Matthew Clarke were unable to come to Atlanta. The following students took part in the Geography Olympiad – Aakarsh Mamawala, Aishwarya Vedula, Anush Polamraju, Leela Menon, Rohan Jay and Vikram Renganathan. We are still awaiting the results since this was a 2 hour written exam.
