Mara Cobb’s creative writing students continued expanding upon their creative writing knowledge throughout August. Students learned the format for writing screenplays, then created their own three-act plays. Students also explored creative nonfiction. They then went on to plan and write their own autobiographies before interviewing a relative and writing their biographies.
On the last day of camp, students enjoyed dressing up and displaying fun virtual backgrounds before solving rebus puzzles and playing a round of Pictionary. “All of my campers this summer were wonderful to work with,” Cobb says. “They were always willing to participate and open to exploring new types of creative writing.”
