2nd Grade Model Bridges
In small groups, 2nd graders built model bridges to find out how materials can be used for different purposes.
Applying what they already learned, they first examined the properties of a variety materials and took notes on which ones were strong and waterproof – the most important requirements for their bridges.
Students made their bridges, then tested their strength and durability in rainy weather. Finally, the groups reconsidered their designs and made recommendations to alter them, as needed. Here’s to our future engineers!
